What's New in Asset Assign: Smarter Inventory, Notifications and Meet Amy

You've got a lot going on. Events to book, inventory to track, clients to follow up with... and somewhere in the middle of all of that, a nagging feeling that something is about to fall through the cracks.

That's exactly what Asset Assign is built to prevent. And this past week, we shipped some of the biggest improvements since beta launched. Here's everything that's new, and what it means for how you run your event rental business.

A Dashboard That Tells You What Needs Attention

Your dashboard now has three cards at the top that surface the stuff that needs your eyes on it before they become a problem.

Items Ready for Return shows any active rentals that have ended and haven't been marked as returned yet. No more discovering three days later that a backdrop stand is still at a venue.

Pending — Next 7 Days shows reservations that are coming up soon but still haven't been confirmed. If a client hasn't locked in and their event is in five days, you'll see it right there without having to scroll through your full list.

Unresolved catches anything that slipped through: reservations where the event date has already passed and the status is still open so you can take action and close it out.

Think of these three cards as your built-in morning checklist. Open Asset Assign and know immediately what needs action.

A Calendar That Actually Works the Way You Think

The calendar page got a meaningful upgrade.

Click any date and a modal pops up showing that day's reservations. From there you can copy the details in one click or jump straight into editing.

Want to create a new reservation? Hover over any date cell and a + button appears. Click it and the modal opens with the "+New Reservation" button to create your reservation with the date already filled in.

Filter pills now show counts for each status so you can see at a glance that you have 4 In Progress, 2 Pending and 1 Confirmed (for example) without having to toggle anything. And only these active statuses show on first load, which keeps the view clean and focused on what's actually happening.

And for those of you syncing your Google Calendar, you're now also able to sync secondary calendar(s) as well (separate from your main calendar).

An Inventory List You Can Actually Dig Into

Click any item in your inventory list and a panel opens showing every upcoming reservation that item is assigned to: event name, dates, status and items, including phrases. It's the fastest way to check whether something is tied up without running a full availability check.

The additional items section inside the reservation form also got some love. Categories are now collapsible for less scrolling, and quantities are typeable (click the field and type the number directly instead of tapping + over and over). Small updates that make a big difference collectively.

Category icons are now visible on every item in your inventory list, so you can orient yourself at a glance.

Daily Notifications So Nothing Gets Missed

Asset Assign now sends optional daily digest emails called "Action needed in Asset Assign". They only go out when there's actually something that needs your attention.

If you have reservations still marked Pending that are coming up this week, you'll hear about it. If items are past their end date and haven't been marked as returned, you'll hear about that too.

You control all of it from Settings > Email Notifications. Turn off what you don't want. Keep what's useful.

Meet Amy: Your AI Inventory Assistant

Asset Assign AI Assistant, Amy
Asset Assign AI Assistant, Amy

You may have seen the chat bubble in the help center before. Now she has a name: Amy.

Amy studies the help center documentation every night so she's always current on how Asset Assign works. Ask her how to do something and she'll walk you through it, clearly and without making you hunt through articles.

But the thing Amy does that we're most excited about: hand her a photo of your handwritten inventory list and she'll convert it into a ready-to-upload CSV. Typed list, scanned sheet, photo of a legal pad... she handles it. She flags anything she's not sure about before producing the file and she won't guess on quantities. If something is missing, she'll ask.

She also knows her limits. If a question is outside what she can answer, she routes it to Nicole directly so you're not left waiting.

You can find Amy in the yellow chat bubble in the bottom right corner of the help center. She's nice, we promise!

A Few Other Things Worth Knowing

The reservation form now prevents impossible date ranges. You can no longer accidentally set an end date before the start date - the form catches it before you save.

The phrase availability check is smarter about when it runs. When editing a reservation, the recheck only triggers if you actually changed the phrase or the dates. Updating a status, adding a note, or changing a client name won't kick off an unnecessary availability check.

What's Next

Want to see what's coming? The Asset Assign Roadmap is public. You'll see what features are being considered, what's intentionally not on the list and why and where Amy is headed next.

And if there's something you wish Asset Assign could do, Amy's ready to take feature requests. Every piece of feedback shapes what gets built next.

Ready to try it? If you're not in Asset Assign yet, the waitlist is open at assetassign.app. Early adopter pricing will be available after beta is through.
